I Love This Quote.

" There are ways to teach a child of his significance regardless of the shape of his nose or the size of his ears or the efficiency of his mind. This is the concept of human worth intended by our Creator."
Dr. James Dobson

A Boy & His Chicken

Mark is a pretty rough & tumble little guy, so I love to see his tender side. Priscilla is his favorite of our Cochins.

Better News!

OK, good news today...even if the courts in Accra stay closed to adoption custody hearings for awhile, the process can still be done in another city in Ghana! You have no idea how relieved I was to find out about this. I didn't know if I should be heart broken, depressed or just more patient & I'm thrilled that it's the latter. Thank You God! You know how much we can bear!

Hard Times

I'm not sure what the exact cause is, but apparently there has been a "hold" put on all adoption hearings in Ghana until further notice pending an investigation. My heart is so heavy for our future child(ren) and for all children in Ghana waiting for their forever families .

Mark's Idea

Mark wants brothers/sisters. He may change his mind at some point soon after it all actually happens, but for now, he's totally on board with the whole adoption idea. So, he decided he wanted to help out with our expenses. He is going to be making note cards (with envelopes) to sell! :) Today he is practicing by making me some, but soon we will go to the craft store to get some nice card stock so he can make the really nice ones. I'm not sure how successful his idea will be, but it touches my heart that my little boy wants to help out. We'll post some pictures of the results later.

Dots

I wish I had adoption news to share, but since I don't, here's what Mark & I did in home school today... We read this neat kids' book titled "the dot" (lower case intentional) by Peter H. Reynolds. It inspired us to try painting with just dots too, and we ended up having a lot of fun together. Oh, and Mark wants me to point out that he has a gap in his teeth. He was excited this week when he lost his second tooth ever.

I Dare

"I dare to believe that the luckless
will get lucky some day in You.
You won't let them down:
Orphans won't be orphans forever."

Basketball Skills

This was said deadpan & meant very seriously...........................

Mark: "I am a very good basketball player. I have a good shot & a good sense of humor."

Even as I am really struggling with this waiting part of our adoption process, I am so aware of how blessed I am. I have a wonderful, kind & hard working husband, an adorable & mischievous son, a comfortable home & a van that just keeps on running. I AM THANKFUL!
